San Francisco Bluegrass & Old-Time Festival Workshops and Revue
I'm coordinating a day of workshops for the San Francisco Bluegrass & Old-Time Festival again this year with some exciting improvements over last year. John Hartford's liner notes from Flatt & Scruggs "Foggy Mountain Jamboree"
Larry Cohea and I were talking the other day about watching great bands and studying them closely on stage and he mentioned remembering something John Hartford had written on the topic. Well he dug it up and it turned out to be the liner notes from Flatt & Scruggs "Foggy Mountain Jamboree." Some interesting stuff and thanks to Larry for sending it along. Check it out. (more)

Listen to Dave on the Bluegrass Signal segment from 7/19
I had a great time on Peter Thompson's Bluegrass Signal show on KALW. I played a couple live Homespun Rowdy songs from our show with Kathy Kallick at McGraths, a couple songs from the first PickUp Band Showcase, one from the Folkslayers, and my song that was played on the Today Show. (more)

Working with The Freight & Salvage's "Take the Stage"
I'll be working with The Freight & Salvage's "Take the Stage" to teach a few sessions in the Fall. The Freight is a center of acoustic music in the Bay Area and I'm excited to be affiliated with them. In addition to their new facility, they are ramping up their educational offerings including this great program that works with groups towards a performance on the Freight stage.
